:Indian civilization considered to be 5000yrs old. Ancient
paintings in Bhimbetka Caves paintings(above 12000yrs
old)says that Indian Civilization can be oldest in the world. Which is
still to discover. Andamans & Nicobar Islands Tribes indicates Birth
of Homo Sapiens(Human Beings)on earth. Vedic conclusion that Civilization
flourished in India long before Fifty thousand years ago, which is the
date that scientists gave as the earliest possible appearance of Homo
sapiens(Eve and Adam). ‘NASA’ Discovery of old rock bridge
deep into sea(Ramayana Setu) between Rameswaram – Sri Lanka. |

Music
: Indian Music based on raga which is a combination of
five, six or seven notes played in a melodious pattern. Western Music
divided into twelve tone scales , but Indian music into microtonal patterns
that form a raga. Ragas contain certain fixed notes, and this is how they
are identified(Like raag Malhaar, Deepak etc.)one from another. Each raag
is meant to evoke a different mood, certain occasion or period or time.

Marriage
: A horoscope is drawn by a priest to see if the couple(girl
and boy) are compatible. An engagement ceremony(tilak or Sagai ) is held
in which the forthcoming marriage becomes finalized . On the day of marriage
, the groom is taken on a horse in procession(with lights/brass bands,
relatives and friends) an to the bride’s home or marriage hall.
The couple sit next to each other (inside marriage area(called Vedi) decorated
with flowers and decorative items)cross-legged before a fire sacrifice,
while the Brahmin(the priest) chants various mantras and performs various
Hindu rituals according to various community and regions. |
